1. Start With Layout, Not Tonnage

Verify the hook can reach the lowest shelf level and still clear the highest load during travel. For double-girder cranes like the LH (5–50T) and QD (5–150T), the hoist sits between the girders, giving better hook height than a single-girder configuration at the same building clearance — a real advantage in warehouses with mezzanine levels or tall racking.

2. Cycle Time: Where the Seconds Actually Go

Cycle time is hoist time plus trolley travel plus bridge travel plus load handling. Most buyers focus on hoist speed and ignore the other three.

  • Long-travel speed: For a 25-meter bay, a bridge moving at 20 m/min covers the span in 75 seconds; at 40 m/min, 37 seconds. Over 100 cycles per shift, that is over an hour recovered.
  • Micro-speed on approach: Precision placement is where operators lose time.
